Betty’s Farm Shop, Willington, Derbyshire

Not just a farm shop, also a butchery and a café to be precise, right on the border of Derbyshire and Staffordshire. They have 24,000 free range hens here, so plenty of eggs, and they keep a few other animals including a flock of sheep. The farm shop sells everything you’d expect it to – fresh produce, cheeses, freshly baked bread, cakes, local ales, jams, conserves and condiments. In the butchery you can buy local meat, home made pies, sausage rolls, pork pies and even ready meals including dinner for a family of four – very convenient when you’re on holibobs. The café does breakfast, lunch, cream tea and homemade cakes. It’s easy to find but if you’re stuck look for the wind turbine from the main road

Closed Mondays but otherwise open 9.00am-5.00pm except on Sundays when it’s 10.00am-3.00pm.
