Heights of Abraham, Matlock Bath, Derbyshire

This is one of the Peak District’s most popular attractions and that’s partly because there’s nothing else quite like it in the UK. This huge estate played a huge part in the lead mining industry but now that’s all gone and there’s more than enough to keep you entertained all day so get up early, get the kids ready and head for the hills. You won’t want to miss the cable car ride where you’ll have the most amazing view over the Derwent Valley and surrounding Peak District; the other end of the scale you can explore the underground cavern system. Discover the Tinker’s Shaft and the Prospect Tower, take a Heritage Walk and let off steam in the Adventure Play area. You’ll go home tired but happy and you’ll certainly sleep well.
